THE "CASA DE HACIENDA"
The Rooms/Machais
![]() |
The bedrooms, called "machais" after an old word alluding "páramo" caves, recall the huts built by highland Indians with their straw roofs and walls made of "estera" (the name given to a reed or cattail mat woven by the skilled hands of local craftsmen). Each bedroom can lodge two persons, except the master bedroom where four persons can sleep. |

Close to the straw that covers the roofs, sleep is easy in these rooms with "esteras" woven by skilled hands, curtains made of ancestral hemp cloth, and soft and comfortable beds. |
